JMA Expectations
These procedures must be followed at all times to ensure proper care and management of our Chromebooks. If you have questions, please contact your grade level administrator.
ACCESSIBILITY
THE USE OF PERSONAL DEVICES
JMA provides wireless access and scholars may continue to bring their Ipads, Smartphones, Nooks, Kindles, etc. to school, if they wish. However, the chromebook will be the device of choice in the classroom.
CHROMEBOOK PARENT/SCHOLAR AGREEMENTS FORMS (District & JMA)
These three (3) forms must be signed by the scholar and parent/guardian and returned to school before a device is assigned.
CHROMEBOOK STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY
JMA will maintain a device use policy. Scholars are governed by the district’s Acceptable Use Agreement. Parents/guardians & scholars who sign this agreement are agreeing to take care of the Chromebook assigned to him/her. In the event, that a scholar's Chromebook is damaged & deemed inoperable, a Chromebook Incident form will be issued. If the scholar is involved in a 2nd incident that results in an inoperable Chromebook, he/she WILL NOT receive another Chromebook. The scholar will need to provide their own Ipad or tablet and/or use the desktop computer in the classroom for their lessons. A cell phone IS NOT an appropriate replacement device. Incidents of gross negligence or repeated incidents of damaged, vandalized or lost Chomebooks will result in loss of the use of the chromebook for the year for that scholar.
BOOK BAGS
EAR BUDS & MOUSE
- Chromebooks will remain at school at all times. They DO NOT go home. All grade levels will pick up their Chromebook during 1st block each day.
- The Chromebook will be returned each day to the 1st block teacher. However, 7th & 8th grade scholars will return to their 1st block teacher at 4:10 PM each day. 6th grade scholars will return to their 1st block teacher at the end of 4th block (3:45 PM) before going to their 5th block class.
